Ömür Gebeş

Ömür Gebeş was born in Istanbul in 1976. He completed his middle and high school education at İSTEK Vakfı Semiha Şakir High School in Istanbul. In 1995, he went to the United States for university education. In 1999, he graduated from the Business Department of Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. During his university studies, he specialized in the field of finance. He started his career as a financial analyst at UPS Logistics Group in Atlanta.
In 2001, after returning to Turkey permanently, he started working as Istanbul Area Manager at Petrol Ofisi A.Ş. During his career at Petrol Ofisi A.Ş., he held various positions, including "Real Estate Investment Representative," "Retail Sales Coordinator," "Aegean Region Manager," and "West Black Sea Region Manager." He worked on various positions and projects related to fuel distribution, sales, marketing, investment, and strategic planning.
In 2009, he began serving as the General Manager at Gümrük ve Turizm İşletmeleri Tic. A.Ş., which is a subsidiary of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). GTİ was established with the Build-Operate-Transfer model to modernize Turkey's Border Gates and Internal Customs and started its operations in 2005 with the partnership of 137 Chambers and Commodity Exchanges. Upon taking office, he initiated projects to establish the company's corporate structure and develop strategic investment plans. Today, GTİ is one of Turkey's rapidly growing companies, having completed the modernization of 10 Border Gates and 2 Internal Customs, and continues to operate these facilities. Ömür Gebeş, who is still in his current position, is also the Vice President of the Management Board of GSMİT (Association of Duty-Free Stores Operators and Suppliers). He is fluent in English and French, married, and a father of two children.
Ersan Arcan

Ersan Arcan graduated from Schiller University with a degree in Business Administration. He started his professional career by working in the family business in the early years. After joining TAV Airports Holding, he served as the Operations Manager at ATÜ Duty Free from 1999 to 2006, and later as the Deputy General Manager from 2006 to 2007. In October 2007, he was appointed as the General Manager of ATÜ Duty Free. Since May 2016, he has been serving as the CEO of ATÜ Duty Free. He is fluent in English and French.
With over 23 years of experience as an entrepreneur and professional in the retail sector, Ersan Arcan has held key roles in leading multinational companies and global brands, particularly in Europe and Turkey, in areas such as operations, sales, business development, new business openings, and business unit management. He has extensive experience in managing and leading people from diverse cultures, with over 2700 employees and retail areas exceeding 27,000 square meters in operation across 21 airports in 8 countries on 4 continents.

In 1981, he began his professional career at Allders Int. Co. Duty Free company in the United Kingdom. When the shares of Allders transferred to Nuance, a Switzerland-based duty-free company, he continued his career there.
In 1993, he became the General Manager of the Joint Venture established between Nuance and Net Holding to obtain the operating rights for duty-free stores at Antalya International Airport, which was the first Build-Operate-Transfer model airport in Turkey.
In 1998, the consortium led by Mr. İman won the duty-free operation rights at the newly opened airport, and they are still continuing their operations there.
Following Nuance Group's acquisition by Dufry Group, which operates more than 400 duty-free stores in almost all regions around the world, he continues his duties as a member of the Board of Directors and General Manager responsible for Turkey and Bulgaria within this group.
Ahmet Sönmez

Ahmet Sönmez, the General Manager of Setur, is a graduate of Istanbul Technical University's Department of Industrial Engineering. After completing his undergraduate education, Sönmez obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration from Koç University. Between 2001 and 2008, he held various positions in Koç Holding's Audit Department. From 2010 to 2015, he served as the Director of Finance at Koçtaş Building Markets, and later took on the position of Deputy General Manager.
Subsequently, from 2015 to 2016, Sönmez served as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Duty Free at Setur. Since 2017, he has been continuing his professional journey as the General Manager of Setur.

He is a graduate of Ankara Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, specializing in the Economics-Finance department, and has completed a master's degree in Business Administration.
In 1974, he began his career as a sales assistant at Setur A.Ş's duty-free store at Ankara Esenboğa Airport. He progressed to become the store manager and left the company in 1981 due to military service.
After completing his 4-month short-term military service, in early 1982, he joined Aygaz-Alpa, another company within the Koç Group, as a Sales Representative at the Ankara Regional Office.
In February 1984, he moved to Istanbul to become the Manager of Setur Stores at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. After holding various positions within Setur Duty Free, he was appointed as the Deputy General Manager responsible for Duty Free in 2000 and retired in late 2009.
Between 2010 and 2016, he established and operated his own travel agency. In early 2017, he transferred their agency and took on the current role of General Secretary at the association.
